LaShonda “L.J.” Holloway’s track record for advocacy began at age 5 fighting for a classmate and was formalized at age 15 after being named a Footsoldier for Justice by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She then attended Howard University and began her Federal service career at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington D.C.
After protesting at Howard, L.J. continued her education at Edward Waters University (EWC) where she graduated magna cum laude while working for AT&T. Dr. Holloway continued her education at University of Florida College of Law (UF Law) where she earned a Juris Doctorate and received the Martin Luther King Award for her advocacy for student services.
Never one to shrink from undertaking , upon completion of law school, Holloway went on to work on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. for Congresswoman Carrie Meek and also served as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Fellow. L.J. returned to EPA as a political appointee and formed an ad hoc UnIon organization called NO FEAR, which established the No-FEAR Act in the 107th Congress signed by president Bush to protect whistleblowers.
Needless to say, Holloway has depth and breadth of Federal experience and negotiated the largest deal in history at U. S. Customs as an Account Executive at Lexis-Nexis where she was named to “Circle of Excellence” and President’s Club. Additional federal experience includes serving as Director in the Office of Documents and Administrative Issuances in the District of Columbia where she published six (6) Municipal Regulations before being diagnosed with a brain tumor.
LaShonda is also the Managing Partner of ‘Holloway & Young,’ a Mediation and Arbitration firm. Most recently, L. J. served as Director of Community Lending and Development in the banking industry. Albeit the majority of her experience is Federal, as a fourth generation resident of the congressional district she seeks to represent, she has also awarded more than fifty scholarships through the Celebration of Life Annual Benefit. LaShonda J. Holloway is also the founder of All About Healthcare Advocates and serves on numerous boards.
